Educational outing for the boys

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon in February than being surrounded by lovely ponies, catching up with friends, and enjoying the glorious sunshine. Last Sunday, we supported the Thames Valley Native & Open show at Manor Farm Kingsey. The early 5am start was a bit of a shock to the system, but well worth it!

Both Snelsmore Zodiac and Snelsmore Zeus have only been shown a handful of times, so they’re still getting used to the show atmosphere, something that can only be experienced by attending events like these. Both boys were a little fresh, juggling their turnout while keeping them clean at this time of year is always a challenge.Zodiac, being the natural show-off that he is, thoroughly enjoyed himself. Despite his freshness, he won the Small M&M two & three-year old class and improved tremendously as the day went on. Zeus was entered the two & three-year-old open Shetland class and, although he was placed third, we were absolutely delighted with him. He felt stunning and moved beautifully, gained valuable experience, learning so much.

It was a fantastic educational outing for both boys. And to top it all off, we were home by 1:30pm, just in time to enjoy the rest of the sunshine in the garden!
