The Somerset Shetland Autumn Show; From rags to riches

A lovely day showing at the Somerset Shetland Autumn Show. The classes were well supported, especially considering how many shows were on the same day. Snelsmore Blossom is on a roll, winning a class of eight miniature yearlings. She’s learning so quickly and will now have a well-earned break until spring. Snelsmore Aragorn also won his class, improving as the day went on, and was chosen as the Miniature Junior Champion before lunch. In the afternoon, it was Snelsmore Ragdoll’s opportunity to shine. After spending the last six years in the field with her friends and not breeding, about a year ago she took on a new role as a companion for our three-year-old granddaughter, Heather. It wasn’t long before Heather was happily being led around the farm, and Ragdoll was enjoying her new career change. Ragdoll went out for a bit of practice at MHOYS and, even though she came third in her class, she showed such enthusiasm that, when we had a space to fill, I entered her again for the senior classes at Somerset. She didn’t disappoint us, winning the mare class, becoming Senior Champion, Miniature Champion, and Reserve Supreme.

I think Grandma might be sharing Ragdoll with Heather in the future!
