Heathfield Agricultural show: A long day.

It was really early 4.00 o’clock start on the 24th of May for the long journey to Heathfield Agricultural show, East Sussex. The weather was not great but the day turn out well. Our judge Mrs M Sargeant picked Snelsmore Ruby Tuesday to win the Yearling class followed by Snelsmore Pavarotti winning the 2 & 3 yr old class and Overall Junior Champion. The sun came out just in time to finish our day, Snelsmore Nevada and I won the stallion class, Miniature Champion and Overall Ring Champion. Many thanks to Dawn and John for your help holding our ponies at the ringside, don’t know how we would have managed with out them, the lorry park seemed to be miles away. Unfortunately our spirits were dampened when it took us four hours to get home on the M25. We arrived at the yard feeling really tried, only to find a deer must have broken the electric fence and the brood mares decided the grass look greener on the other side. Cliff and I spent the next hour repairing it, before eating our dinner and going to bed.
