Stud News: SPSBS Sire award for Zazarac

A second place in the SPSBS sire award for Kington Zazarac.

I clearly remember twenty-two years ago one wet winters evening we answered an advert in the Horse & hound. It was love at first sight a naughty character stood at the back of a stable stamping his tiny hoof in a temper, with a mass of flaxen mane and tail and a real sparkle in his eye. From that moment I knew he was coming home with us, Cliff is not one to resist a challenge. We must have been mad!! we brought ourselves a wild chestnut colt foal. His sire was Fairy Cocktail, so we decided to name him Zazarac. A name of a cocktail drink thanks to its full list of ingredient, it has somewhat of a kick, so watch your wobbliness when consuming it. Over the years he continued to be strong willed but Cliff and Zazarac formed a partnership, together they were successful in the show ring. So far, he’s sired seventy-eight foals for Snelsmore, many have won numerous champions and now his grandchildren are following in their  footsteps. Zazarac was second in the sire award 2016 and even at the age of twenty-two still has a real charisma about him producing us a new crop of exciting foals each year.

Who would have thought that little colt foal would have played such a big part of our stud.
