Day one early Saturday morning, we headed to Usk Agricultural Show, Monmouthshire. Snelsmore Zeus started strong, winning the miniature youngstock class, followed by Snelsmore Oasis who won her broodmare class and went on to be Miniature Champion. Unfortunately, the celebrations were cut short when the heavens opened with hailstones and rain, bringing showing to an end for us on the first day. Back in pyjamas and dried out, it was time to drive home and prepare for round two. Day two Sunday, NPS British In-Hand Show, Leicestershire. An early start again this time with Oxgang Ferando and Snelsmore Zac. Both winning their classes! Ferando went one better, taking Overall Reserve Shetland Champion from the morning classes and qualifying for the Shetland Championship in the evening performance. The thrill of the night was Ferando being Reserve Supreme Shetland against some beautiful ponies. We even had a spin in the Price Championship – Ferando may have enjoyed himself a little too much, but I couldn’t be prouder to have represented the Shetland breed across such a fantastic weekend.
