Always love going at new venues, so completing at Usk Agricultural for the first time was no exception.
It turn out that Usk was a lovely County show near Monmouthshire, Wales and we had some beautiful weather so we enjoyed wandering through some of the shows interesting trade stands after we finished the more serous business of showing our ponies. On this occasion our Shetland judge Mrs S Seaward picked Snelsmore Nevada as Best Miniature and Overall Shetland Champion. Snelsmore Jacqueline won her mare class and Reserve Overall Champion with her foal Snelsmore Sebastian taken the Best foal rosette. Later on in the afternoon Nevada went on to complete for the Best of Show, against all the other show Champions including the ridden horses. So pleased he was selected down to the final six horses, unfortunately he didn’t get pick as the winner but still really chuffed he represented our Shetland pony breed so well. So proud of him and Cliff given it their best shot and I think we will be going back to have another attempted next year.
