Wessex group show: Soapsuds and smiles

Great day at Wessex show. I thought we were quite mad the day before washing seven ponies, but all the hard scrubbing paid off.

So pleased we decided to take two extra yearlings with us, its so rewarding to watch them learn as the day go on. The experiences at these group shows all help for a great foundation for the future.

A sweet win at last for our skewbald yearling filly Snelsmore Targaryen she has so deserved it. Snelsmore Truffle enjoyed his second outing perhaps a bit to much at times, he’ll learn! stamina is what’s needed. On the other hand little Snelsmore Tetbury having his first outing took it in his stride and his patient paid off by just beating Truffle for a second and third place. A win in the novice class for the nine year old mare Snelsmore Lily having her first ever outing.  Lily is a  proven brood mare enjoying a career change, lets hope its the start of bigger and better things to come. Our more experience ponies were next.  Snelsmore Quaffle has stepped up this year  from her age classes to a mare and did so with a win and a smile. Snelsmore Spectre and Snelsmore Pavarotti continue our winning form with the Junior Championship for Spectre and the Miniature Championship followed by the Supreme Championship for Pavarotti. I think we will all sleep well tonight.
