Wessex Group Spring show: Both boy’s forgiven this time

I will remember the Wessex Group Spring show for a long time. It was our first show of the year and as I was woken by the 4.30 alarm, not only was it a shock to my system, I question myself why do we do this? but later in the day I was reminded with all three ponies going foot perfect, all winning their classes. Our baby on the lorry was the inexperience Snelsmore Sienna she performed well to become Reserve Junior Champion. So, delighted with her. Her travelling companion, my favourite Snelsmore Querl won a strong mare class and was Reserve Senior Champion. While Snelsmore Pavarotti our strawberry roan stallion behaving just like his sire Zazarac, very full of himself and giving Cliff a hard time, luckily, our judge Mr Pitcairn’s choose him as his Miniature Champion and Reserve Supreme, so he was forgiven this time. This is not the main reason I’ll remember my day, much to the amusement of everybody was the lack of my trousers. Our cleaned freshly ironed showing clothes were left at home on the kitchen table, not ideal start. Cliff was ok he travelled in dark trousers and a checked shirt, it did clash with his tie and his coat but I don’t think to many people noticed, but poor me like normal everyone knows I travel to the shows in my comfy pyjamas, determined Cliff was not leading my pony I borrowed a shirt and a pair of trousers, they didn’t fit that great but probably looked much better than my colourful pyjamas and the day did worked out fine. It seems funny now but at the time I wasn’t laughing. Lesson learnt,  keep a spare set of clothes in the lorry for emergency’s.
