After deciding that the Southwest group show just wasn’t going to work for Cliff and I too many obstacles kept cropping up. I tried to relax a bit after having washed two ponies and having to accept our showing just wasn’t meant to be. Later that evening, though, seeing my disappointment Cliff suggested, “Why don’t we take Zac to support the Winter Woollies In Hand show? It’d be great experience for him.” So, we woke early fitted Zac with a show bridle, practiced loading, and set off at a respectable 9:30. And I’m so glad we did! The show was welcoming, with a great venue, helpful people, and a good turnout. Zac was well behaved for a two-year-old colt on his first outing, he struggled a bit with the standing still in the lineup, but we’ll work on that at home. He ended up winning his two-& three-year-old class, Reserve Miniature Champion, and Reserve Supreme of Show behind a beautiful Fell pony.
Zac’s first show turned out to be a winning one.
